The City collected approximately $343.8 million in General Fund tax revenue in May of FY2022, compared to $353.6 million in May of FY2021, a decrease of approximately $9.8 million, or 2.8%, representing the first month since October in which the City recorded a decrease. Collections increased for every tax category except BIRT (business income and receipts tax), real estate, and beverage, as shown in Table 1. The City portion of the wage, earnings, and net profits taxes increased by $38.3 million, or 31.5%; the realty transfer tax increased by $27.6 million, or 102.9%; and the City sales tax increased by $8.9 million, or 35.6%. The parking and amusement taxes continue to increase exponentially as concerts, festivals, and other events return to the City.
