The City collected approximately $208.0 million in General Fund tax revenue in October of FY2021, compared to $253.3 million in October FY2020, a decrease of approximately $45.2 million, or 17.9 percent. The City portion of the wage, earnings, and net profits taxes decreased by $45.0 million, or 28.8 percent; most of this decrease is likely due to the timing of a large payment, a remittance of approximately $30 million that was received on November 1. The only tax categories to increase in October were the business income and receipts (“BIRT;” $15.5 million; 79.1 percent) and real estate ($989,512; 14.2 percent) taxes.
